August 5, 2011 (Shanghai) – RFS, a global leader in wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure, has introduced a groundbreaking three-band polarized base station antenna designed for LTE800 and other critical frequency bands. This innovative antenna combines structural ingenuity with advanced performance to meet the growing demands of modern mobile networks.
The antenna features a 2.6-meter-long semi-cylindrical radome that significantly reduces wind load by over 50% compared to traditional designs. Internally, it incorporates 29 vibrators, each paired with a phase shifter, enabling precise control of the radiation pattern within a tilt range of 2 to 12 degrees. This ensures optimal directional symmetry and superior electrical performance across the entire operating spectrum.
Designed to support a wide range of wireless technologies—including LTE800, CDMA 850, GSM 900, UMTS 900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900, and UMTS 2100—this tri-band antenna allows operators to maximize existing tower capacity without adding extra weight or stress. Its low wind load also enhances tower stability, making it ideal for deployment in challenging weather conditions.
With its compact design, this antenna is especially well-suited for urban environments where space is limited and interference is high. It offers greater tilt flexibility and improved upper sidelobe suppression, ensuring high gain and excellent VSWR performance across all frequencies. The variable electric downtilt feature further helps reduce inter-cell interference, improving network efficiency.
Mr. Teppo Lukkarila, RFS Base Station Antenna Product Manager, stated, “Our goal was to create a highly compact, lightweight antenna that still delivers top-tier electrical performance. Through rigorous testing, including wind tunnel analysis, we achieved a wind load of just 590 Newtons—over 50% lower than our main competitor’s product. This new antenna not only supports multiple wireless standards but also gives operators the precision they need to manage interference in dense networks.â€
In addition to supporting LTE800, this development highlights RFS’s ongoing commitment to 4G technology. The company plans to release a series of dual- and quad-band antennas throughout 2011, offering even more flexibility for global LTE deployments.
Industry experts have praised the antenna for its unique balance of performance and durability. Two of the world’s top ten mobile operators have already certified the product, with more approvals expected soon. Its six-port design follows industry-standard spacing, simplifying installation and maintenance.

On Grid Solar Energy System
On grid solar energy system refers to a type of Solar Energy System that is connected to the electrical grid, allowing the excess electricity generated by the solar panels to be sent back into the grid for distribution to other users. This solar power system can operate in two modes: when there is sufficient sunlight to power the household's needs, the system supplies power directly to the home; when there isn't enough sunlight, the grid fills the gap by providing power.
Features
1. Energy Savings: By generating your own electricity, you can significantly reduce your reliance on traditional utility providers, leading to substantial savings on electricity bills.
2. Stability: On grid systems are designed to be highly reliable, ensuring consistent power supply to the home. They are also equipped with advanced safety features to prevent power surges and ensure safe operation.
3. Grid Backup: In the event of a power outage, grid-tied systems often have the capability to switch to battery backup, providing temporary power to critical loads within the home.
4. Enhanced Property Value: Installing a solar energy system can increase the value of your property, making it a smart investment.
The setup typically involves solar panels installed on rooftops or in open spaces, an inverter to convert the direct current (DC) from the solar panels into alternating current (AC), which is compatible with the grid, and a meter that tracks the energy produced and consumed. The system is monitored through a control panel or app, providing real-time data on energy generation and consumption.
