LED constant current driver for automotive lights

Elmos, Germany, has announced a number of application solutions for automotive lights. Based on the E522.3x family of chips, Elmos has developed a family of automotive LED constant current drivers. The DC/DC driver can operate in boost or buck-boost mode with an operating voltage range of 5V to 55V and withstands output voltages up to 80V. Depending on the load of the LED, a single channel (E522.31/33) or a dual channel (E522.32/34) DCDC solution can be selected.

The elmos LED controller family E522.3x offers a variety of topologies, such as boost vs. GND, boost vs. battery (positive), SEPIC topology or buck vs. battery. The switching frequency of the switching power supply can be adjusted from 225kHz to 600kHz by synchronizing with other devices through an external resistor or master-slave configuration. The IC's operating voltage range is 5V to 55V, withstands output voltages up to 80V, depending on the actual needs, in single or dual channel mode. This solution can be applied to low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running lights and rear view mirror turn signals.
