In his speech, he highlighted the importance of leveraging cellular technology to expand IoT solutions within enterprises, marking a strategic shift in how connectivity is approached for business applications.

When it comes to mobile phone connections, the numbers provided by a single operator typically reach the "hundred million" scale. However, as enterprises transition toward the Internet of Things, the number of user connections will need to grow significantly, reaching much larger volumes.
In the past, Qualcomm structured its product lines around different platforms, such as the popular mobile terminal chips, which were categorized into series like 200, 400, 600, and 800. For the IoT space, the company plans to build on this framework, developing specialized chip solutions tailored to various market demands.
Looking ahead, Qualcomm is placing greater emphasis on cellular technology and exploring ways to enhance its role in supporting IoT connectivity. The company’s upcoming product lineup will be divided into two main categories: one targeting LTE Cat-1 and above for IoT applications, and the
other focusing on LTE Cat-M1 and LTE Cat-NB1. These segments can be flexibly combined, enabling the intelligentization of all products and creating a connected network.
Moreover, Qualcomm recognizes the strengths and limitations of these new technologies and aims to integrate them into a unified hardware platform. This approach allows customers to operate globally, adapt to different network environments, and achieve greater efficiency while reducing costs.
