The MSL0301RGBW differs from the MSL0401RGBW in the number of pins, the former being 4 pins and the latter being 6 pins. The new product is equipped with red, yellow and blue light-emitting elements in one package, enabling full-color illumination such as white. They achieve the industry's smallest size while maintaining the characteristics of the mirror-mounted LEDs – “high concentrating and high brightnessâ€. In addition, ROHM succeeds in shortening the distance between the light-emitting elements by the self-developed wiring pattern, thereby achieving high color mixing which is indispensable for improving performance.
The goal of these two new products is to be used in entertainment and mobile products to create ultra-fine, high-brightness LED matrices that help improve the expressiveness of entertainment products. Samples of these two new products have been available since November 2011, and the sample price is 50 yen per piece. Mass production of 3 million units per month is expected from May 2012.
