On the basis of the traditional constant current source driver chip, the market needs more innovative cost-effective, eliminating smear, low power consumption and high refresh rate and other driver chips.

The erasing technology can make the display picture more delicate and meet the needs of high-definition picture quality; low power consumption can save energy in the long-term use of LED display to achieve low-cost application and energy saving and environmental protection requirements; the higher the refresh rate, the display The more stable the picture, the lack of fatigue in the human eye, and the ability to meet the needs of high-speed shooting.

Current subtraction

The dynamic screen charges the parasitic capacitance on the column or row line when the line is switched, causing some LED lights that are not bright at this moment to appear dark, which is called smear phenomenon. If the LED display current is poor, the smear phenomenon will affect the quality of the display.

Since each column line and row line of the display screen has parasitic capacitance, the column line parasitic capacitance will affect the rising and falling edge time of the output port of the driving chip, which will affect the display effect when the chip is low gray, and will cause smear phenomenon. . As shown in Figure 1, the smear phenomenon is very obvious when the LED screen is "slashed": the LED light that is normally displayed, the LED lights in the up and down (or left and right) positions will be dark.

As shown in FIG. 2, when the ROW(n) ​​row is turned on, the parasitic capacitance Cc is charged by the turned-on lamp 1; when the ROW(n+1) line is turned on, the parasitic capacitance Cc is still charged by the lamp 2. , causing the light 2 to be dim.

The current subtraction technique effectively eliminates the smear phenomenon. When the ROW(n) ​​row and the ROW(n+1) row are lined, the current smear function automatically charges the parasitic capacitor Cc, when ROW(n+1) When turned on, the parasitic capacitance Cc will not be charged by the lamp 2, thereby eliminating the smear phenomenon.

Low power technology

In order to reduce the power consumption of LED displays, Mingwei has introduced low-power products. As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 below, the power supply voltage of the LED display screen is lowered by reducing the constant current inflection point voltage.





In this way, because the power supply voltage is lowered, the voltage drop of 1V required for the red light to be connected can be omitted. Through these two improvements, low-power, high-quality applications are achieved.
