Offshore wind farms may have an impact on migratory routes of migratory birds in Asia-Pacific.

According to the EIA, the offshore wind farm project is located in the eastern part of Xinyi Island in Xuwen County, with a sea area of ​​58 km2. It mainly includes 67 offshore wind turbines, sea pressure-increasing stations, 35 kV field-harboring submarine cables, 110 kV submarine cables, and land Central Control Center and other projects. According to the EIA, the project will have a major impact on the migration of migratory birds in the Asia Pacific region. The EIA submission on the forum was released on March 24th. The environmental assessment unit of the project was Ocean University of China, and the construction unit was Guangdong Yuedian Xuwen Wind Power Co., Ltd.

The environmental assessment shows that the impact of offshore wind farms on birds is mainly reflected in the impact on nearby bird habitats, foraging activities and the risk of collision between wind turbines and migratory birds and birds. At the same time, this wind farm is located on the migratory route of migratory birds in the Asia Pacific region, which may result in the blocking of the migration route.

After the wind farm is put into operation, the ecological environment of benthic organisms around the fan pile foundation is permanently damaged, and the original muddy benthic species within this range cannot be restored. Due to the existence of fan piles, especially in fog weather, the probability of collided fishing boat and fan piles has increased greatly, and there are certain environmental risks for fishing vessels and fans.
