Wire and Cable Heating Deformation Test Device

I. Overview

This heating deformation test device is designed to meet the requirements of UL5601-2006, UL560, and UL2556 standards for wire and cable testing. It is used to evaluate the thermal stability and deformation characteristics of insulation materials under high-temperature conditions.

The pressure bar has an upper diameter of Φ19mm and a lower diameter of Φ9.5mm. The total weight of the pressure bar is 250g, ensuring consistent and accurate pressure application during testing.

The device consists of three groups, each with different weights: 1g, 2g, 2g, 5g, 10g, 10g, 20g, 20g, 50g, 100g, 100g, and 200g. These weights can be customized according to customer specifications and testing needs.

II. Operating Instructions

1. Prepare appropriate samples in accordance with the relevant testing standards.

2. Use a static weight dial gauge to measure and record the initial thickness of the sample before testing.

3. Place the test device inside the aging test chamber and position the weights on the designated weight plate.

4. Set the temperature and time parameters according to the required standard values. Once the desired temperature is reached, turn on the timer to start the test duration.

5. After the specified time has elapsed, remove the sample from the chamber and measure its thickness again using the static weight dial gauge. Record the post-test thickness values.

6. Calculate the deformation rate using the formula: (Initial Thickness - Final Thickness) / Initial Thickness × 100%. Compare the results with the applicable standards to determine compliance.

This device is ideal for quality control in the production of electrical wires and cables, ensuring that materials meet the necessary performance criteria under prolonged heat exposure. Its reliable design and precise measurement capabilities make it a valuable tool in laboratory and industrial testing environments.
