Quanergy and Cisco collaborate to push IoT solutions

Quanergy, a leading company in solid-state optical (LiDAR) sensors and intelligent sensing systems, is partnering with Cisco to develop an innovative Internet of Things (IoT) solution for smart transportation. This collaboration aims to enhance urban mobility by integrating Quanergy’s advanced optical sensors and software with Cisco’s KineTIc IoT data management platform. Together, they are working on improving driver and pedestrian safety, optimizing traffic flow, and strengthening the overall Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). The goal is to create safer streets and more efficient movement for both vehicles and pedestrians. A key component of this partnership is the deployment of Cisco’s Connected Roadway system in Las Vegas, which was showcased at CES 2018. At the first deployed intersection, Quanergy’s LiDAR sensors capture pedestrian movements and track vehicles such as buses, providing real-time data that helps improve road safety. Cisco’s KineTIc platform serves as the backbone of this system, connecting people, devices, and data to build a smarter, more responsive urban infrastructure. This allows cities to leverage data analytics for better decision-making and improved public services. The collaboration also includes the integration of Quanergy’s Qortex sensing software with Cisco’s network capabilities, enabling more accurate and efficient data processing. Additionally, the two companies are running multiple proof-of-concept (POC) programs, covering areas like vehicle counting, queue length detection, road worker safety, and path error alerts. These initiatives help test and refine the technology for broader implementation. Quanergy’s LiDAR technology uses laser sensing to generate high-resolution 3D maps that update multiple times per second. Beyond just detecting objects, the system classifies them and processes data through Qortex to support real-time decision-making. This level of precision and responsiveness makes it ideal for smart city applications where accuracy and speed are crucial. By combining Quanergy’s sensing power with Cisco’s network intelligence, the partnership is paving the way for a safer, smarter, and more connected future on our roads.

165V High Power DC System

Variable voltage DC Power Supply support master-slave configuration to increase the output capacity to 576kW. SYS series cabinets use world famous circuit breaker to control the input of each power module inside. After power on, the specified 3U or 6U height power supply will be configured as a Master to control all of the slave units. CSP is the Master in SYSA series cabinets, which is equipped with a PDU (Power Distribution Unit) and a CSP (Control & Supervisory Panel).

Connecting the cabinet

1. The cabinets can be connected in parallel in order to increase output power.

● Maximum 16 units 3U height same model DC power supplies or 6U height same model DC power supplies can be connected via the bus.

● 16 units each with a power of 18kW are connected together to a 288kW system.

● 16 units each with a power of 36kW are connected together to a 576kW system.

2. Different height cabinets can be connected in parallel.

● Use parallel bars to simplify the connection between multiple rack cabinets.

● Realized the gapless connection between multiple rack cabinets.
