On October 12th, the Henan Heping Power Co., Ltd. held a signing and construction promotion meeting in Fengquan District, Xinxiang City, marking a major step forward for China Pingmei Shenma Group as it expands into the new energy and materials sector. The project, which involves a total investment of 5 billion yuan, aims to establish a 10 GWh high-energy lithium-ion battery production facility. This initiative is part of the group's broader strategy to diversify its operations and tap into the growing demand for clean energy solutions. The 10GWh lithium-ion battery project, led by Henan Pingguo Guoneng Lithium Battery Co., Ltd., is a joint effort between China Pingmei Shenma Group, Beijing Guoneng Battery, and the Xinxiang Municipal Government. With an area of nearly 2,000 acres and a total investment of 5 billion yuan, the project is expected to create over 2,000 job opportunities. The first phase, with a capacity of 1 GWh and an investment of 590 million yuan, is set to be completed by the end of 2018, with projected sales revenue of 1.8 billion yuan and profits of 360 million yuan. Once fully operational, the facility is anticipated to generate nearly 30 billion yuan in sales revenue and contribute around 5 billion yuan in taxes and profits. The power battery industry is experiencing rapid growth, driven by both government policies and increasing market demand, especially as the electric vehicle sector continues to expand. Lithium-ion batteries play a crucial role in mobile energy storage and are seen as a key component in the future of sustainable energy systems. With this new project, China Pingmei Shenma Group is positioning itself at the forefront of this evolving industry. In addition to lithium-ion batteries, the group has been actively developing other advanced technologies, such as electroplated diamond wires, high-purity silane, monocrystalline silicon solar cells, photovoltaic power stations, and cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. These efforts have helped strengthen the group’s position in the new energy and materials field, enhancing its industrial chain integration and competitive edge. The project will leverage the technological expertise and manufacturing experience of Beijing Guoneng Battery and the Xinxiang Battery Research Institute, following a development model focused on high standards, specialization, and quality. Upon completion, it will feature the world's first fully automated all-solid-state lithium-ion battery production line, with product and process technology that is estimated to be 5-8 years ahead of global competitors. This innovation will make the products highly competitive in the international market and open up significant growth potential. Furthermore, the project aims to revive the "Zhonghua" battery brand, once a well-known name in Xinxiang. By rebranding and modernizing this legacy, the company hopes to reintroduce it as a symbol of quality and innovation in the battery industry. Despite facing challenges in a difficult macroeconomic environment, China Pingmei Shenma Group has shown resilience and determination. Over the past few years, the group has successfully navigated tough times and emerged stronger. In the first eight months of this year alone, the group reported operating income of 89.4 billion yuan, a 13.9% increase compared to the same period last year, and a profit of 700 million yuan.
