Among the high-speed communication protocol technologies that improve TCP communication performance, there are high-speed retransmission methods and error correction methods. However, although the high-speed resend method is effective for increasing the speed of large-capacity file transfers, it cannot completely avoid the resend process. Therefore, operation delay will occur for human-computer interaction such as virtual desktops. The error correction method has the problem that increasing the redundancy and the error correction processing operation will increase the CPU load.

As mentioned above, since the characteristics of communication protocols are different, it is impossible for one communication protocol to provide the best communication performance for all communication environments and applications. Moreover, in recent years, the network environment is also becoming more complex, and LAN, wireless lines, Internet, and dedicated lines are mixed together. Then select the protocol with the best performance from the inferred communication performance of each protocol for communication.
