At the 2018 Embedded World Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany, from February 27 to March 1, VIA Technologies made a strong impression with its latest edge computing solutions designed for the evolving Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Enterprise IoT applications. These innovations quickly caught the attention of attendees, showcasing VIA’s commitment to delivering advanced, reliable, and flexible technology.
The VIA Edge Computing System is engineered to efficiently collect and analyze real-time data from industrial machinery and construction equipment. It ensures secure communication between enterprise networks, cloud servers, and devices, streamlining the optimization of industrial automation processes. This system is ideal for optimizing remote control and monitoring of CNC equipment and other industrial machinery, with customization available to meet specific needs.
Another highlight was the **VIA VB9001 Firewall Security Platform**, a highly integrated 3.5-inch SBC featuring five Gigabit Ethernet ports, robust I/O, and wireless connectivity. Designed as a secure edge gateway, it protects critical industrial equipment such as CNCs and PLCs from potential cyber threats when connected to the cloud. Its low power consumption, fanless operation, and customizable features make it well-suited for industrial network security, decentralized control systems, and surveillance applications.
The **VIA ARTIGO A600 Intelligent Building Automation System** also stood out, offering a wide range of I/O capabilities, including four 3-pole Phoenix RS-485 interfaces with 3.75KV opto-isolation. This fanless system seamlessly integrates with HVAC, lighting, and other building equipment, helping plants reduce energy use and improve safety. With a built-in Ethernet port and optional Wi-Fi module, it ensures reliable cloud communication, supporting remote monitoring and management to cut down on maintenance and operational costs.
