International giants are optimistic about China's LED business opportunities

It was learned from Air Products, one of the world's largest industrial gas companies, that it has put into production the world's first and largest ultra-high-purity ammonia on-site gas plant in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, providing ultra-high brightness for new high-brightness LED projects in the region. Purity ammonia will produce 2,000 tons of gas per year.

It is reported that the GaN base layer used in LED manufacturing requires a large amount of ammonia to provide a source of nitrogen. Due to the optimistic outlook of China's LED market, Air Products has also built a second high-purity ammonia plant in the same manufacturing base. The production capacity of the plant is the same as the first-phase plant that was put into production this time, and it plans to start production in mid-2012.

It is also known that Air Products recently signed a long-term contract with Shaanxi Future Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. to build and operate an on-site air separation plant in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The contract is the world's largest air separation plant on-site gas supply order awarded to Industrial Gas Corporation.
