The NCL30000 is a compact yet highly efficient switching power supply controller designed specifically for single-stage power factor correction (PFC) LED drivers. With an exceptionally low startup current of just 24 microamperes and an operational current of only 2 milliamperes, this device offers remarkable energy efficiency. It also features cycle-by-cycle current protection and provides a robust 500mA current source, making it ideal for applications such as LED driver power supplies, commercial and residential LED decorative lighting, and PFC constant voltage power supplies. The device incorporates a programmable on-time limiter, a zero-current detection sensing block, a gate driver, a transconductance error amplifier, and all necessary PWM control circuits and protection mechanisms to implement a CrM switch-mode power supply. Its low startup current allows for rapid, low-loss charging of the VCC capacitor. The current-sense protection threshold is set at 500 millivolts to reduce power dissipation in the external sense resistor. Designed to meet the stringent demands of solid-state lighting, the NCL30000 operates across a wide junction temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.
