　　 The latest news from Taiwanese media shows that Apple has signed a contract with Taiwan Xinbang Technology to introduce fingerprint sensors in the next generation iPhone.

Taiwanese media reported on Monday that Apple's next-generation iPhone 5S will integrate fingerprint sensors and Near Field Communication (NFC) chips to enable mobile payments. These two modules will work together to help users more easily use the fingerprint for transaction authorization. According to the report, in the second quarter, Apple is procuring components for the production of the iPhone 5S, which is expected to be launched in the middle of 2013 to the second half of 2013.

KGI Securities analyst Kuo Ming-chi (Ki Ming Ming) also gave similar predictions. He believes that the new iPhone 5S will be released from June to July, and will use the same design as the iPhone 5, but will have a built-in fingerprint sensor, improved camera, and a more powerful A7 embedded system chip.

According to Guo Mingchi, the fingerprint sensor will be located below the device "Home" button. The user can simply use his finger on the "Home" button and the fingerprint sensor will function. The user's fingerprint authentication can bring a variety of purposes, such as entering passwords and transaction authorization.

Last year, Apple acquired information security company AuthenTec for $356 million, suggesting that Apple may integrate fingerprint scanners into future devices. According to reports at the time, Apple's acquisition was mainly for the company's "smart sensor" components.

For the Near Field Communication e-wallet service, Apple launched the Passbook app in iOS 6 last year. However, due to the need to negotiate with merchants to enable merchants to support mobile payment terminals, Apple did not integrate NFC functionality into the device at the time.
