With the increasing popularity of LED displays, more and more manufacturers are striving to provide better performance. However, with this growth comes a wide range of challenges. When faced with these issues, many users are unsure how to handle them. Some even shut down the system and seek professional after-sales support. Today, we’ll discuss how to deal with outdoor LED displays that have been exposed to water.
Here are some steps you can take if your LED display has gotten wet:
1. Use a fan or any available tool to blow out the water from the screen as quickly as possible.
2. Once the screen is completely dry, power it on and perform an aging process. Follow these steps carefully:
- Set the brightness to 10% (all white) and power it on for 8–12 hours.
- Increase the brightness to 30% (all white) and age for 12 hours.
- Raise the brightness to 60% (all white) and age for 12–24 hours.
- Adjust the brightness to 80% (all white) and age for another 12–24 hours.
- Finally, set the brightness to 100% (all white) and age for 8–12 hours.
3. After completing these steps, the screen should be mostly back to normal. However, there are several important things to keep in mind during the process:
- If you notice water inside the warehouse or on the LED screen, act immediately. Delaying could cause more damage.
- Assign personnel to blow dry the entire LED screen that has been exposed to water.
- Do not place the water-damaged LED screen into an air-tight box, as this may suffocate the LEDs.
- If water enters the air box, make sure all boxes are exposed to sunlight to prevent moisture from re-entering the screen after packaging.
- Even if the outdoor full-color LED display hasn’t been exposed to water, prolonged exposure to humidity can still affect its stability. During emergency treatment, the screen might fail when powered on.
- If an LED display remains in the air box for more than 72 hours, it may no longer be repairable. Be cautious and act quickly.
Taking these steps can significantly improve the chances of saving your LED display after water exposure. Always prioritize drying and proper handling to avoid long-term damage.
