With the increasing popularity of LED displays, more and more manufacturers are striving to improve their performance. However, with this growth comes a wide range of issues that users often struggle to handle. Many people simply shut down the system and look for professional after-sales support, but today we’ll focus on one specific problem: how to deal with outdoor LED displays that have been exposed to water.
If your LED display has gotten wet, it's important to act quickly to prevent long-term damage. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you restore your screen:
1. Use a fan or any other tool to remove the water from the screen as quickly as possible. The faster you dry it, the better the chances of saving the display.
2. After the screen is completely dry, power it on and perform an aging process. This helps identify any potential issues and ensures the display is functioning properly. Follow these steps:
- Adjust the brightness to 10% (using all white) and power it on for 8–12 hours.
- Increase the brightness to 30% (still using all white) and age it for another 12 hours.
- Raise the brightness to 60% and continue aging for 12–24 hours.
- Set the brightness to 80% and age for 12–24 hours.
- Finally, set the brightness to 100% and run it for 8–12 hours.
3. After completing the above steps, your screen should be back to normal. However, there are some important things to keep in mind during the process:
- If you notice water inside the warehouse or on the LED screen, address the issue immediately. Delaying can lead to irreversible damage.
- Assign personnel to blow dry the entire LED screen body that has come into contact with water.
- Do not place the water-damaged LED screen in an air-tight box, as this can cause the LEDs to suffocate and fail.
- If water enters the air box, make sure to expose all boxes to sunlight. This helps prevent moisture from re-entering the display after packaging.
- Even if the outdoor full-color LED display hasn’t been submerged, water exposure can still affect its stability. During emergency treatment, the screen may turn off or fail when powered on.
- Any LED display that has been in an air box for over 72 hours without proper drying will likely have little to no repair value. Be cautious and act quickly.
