Littelfuse transient suppression diode array protects sensitive electronic devices

Littelfuse has launched the SR05 series of TVS diode arrays and SPA diodes, specifically designed to safeguard telecommunications and industrial equipment from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and lightning surges. These devices are engineered to withstand repeated ESD strikes of up to 25A per channel without compromising performance, making them ideal for today’s sensitive chipsets. Modern integrated circuits are highly vulnerable due to their thin oxide layers and shallow junctions, but the SR05 series offers exceptional protection thanks to its ultra-low dynamic resistance and clamping voltage. With a minimal capacitance of just 6pF between each I/O pin and ground, the SR05 ensures signal integrity is preserved, preventing data loss during high-speed transmission. This makes it particularly well-suited for applications where speed and reliability are critical. The SR05 series finds use in a wide range of applications, including T1/E1/T3/E3 lines, Ethernet 10BaseT interfaces, LAN/WAN devices, ISDN S/T ports, video lines, microcontroller inputs, and USB 1.1 ports—ideal for both standard and high-speed interfaces. According to Chad Marak, Director of Transient Suppression Diode Arrays at Littelfuse, "The SR05 series delivers up to 25A of surge protection with a maximum clamping voltage of 18V—10% lower than similar industry solutions. Additionally, its low load capacitance of 6.0pF, which is 40% less than comparable products, makes it perfect for protecting high-speed data lines. This means designers can maintain both strong protection and signal integrity without compromise."
