China's LED industry faces development opportunities

At present, China's LED industry has initially formed four major regions, including the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, Jiangxi and Fujian, Beijing and Dalian. Each region has initially formed a relatively complete industrial chain. The Pearl River Delta industry is mainly concentrated in Guangzhou (Foshan) and Shenzhen, and the most obvious competitive advantage in this field is the market advantage. According to statistics, LED usage in the Guangdong market currently accounts for 50% of the country. The Yangtze River Delta is more active in Hangzhou, Ningbo, etc. in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The LED industry in Fujian Province is mainly concentrated in Xiamen. At present, Xiamen has dozens of LED chip manufacturing, packaging and application product development and production. Enterprises, of which two of the world's three major lighting groups have invested in Xiamen. Jiangxi Province has achieved large-scale production from upstream epitaxial materials, midstream chip manufacturing to downstream device packaging. The northern regions, including Beijing and Dalian, have obvious advantages in research and development and are making industrialization.

At present, there are more than 400 units in the LED industry in mainland China. According to the Ministry of Information Industry Science and Technology and CCID, there are more than 160 manufacturers, and the output of LED chips has increased from 11.56 billion in 2003 to 30.93 billion in 2006. The annual compound growth rate is 38.8%, and the output growth rate of ultra-high brightness LEDs exceeds 50%. The LED industry has a certain technology and industrial base. The domestic Blu-ray chip index has reached the level of foreign mid-range products. The LED packaging technology has little gap with foreign countries. It has occupied a considerable share in the international market, and it is possible to achieve key technological breakthroughs and form an autonomous Intellectual property.

According to customs statistics analysis, from 2003 to 2006, China's LED exports increased year by year, and the annual compound growth rate of exports and exports reached 41.4% and 95.5%, respectively, reaching 33.74 billion and 4.187 billion in 2006. At the same time, imports have also increased year by year. The compound annual growth rate of imports and imports has reached 34.1% and 29.0%, respectively. In 2006, it reached 41.11 billion and 3 billion. The export growth rate of LEDs is faster than that of imports. By May of this year, China's LED exports totaled 1.38 billion US dollars, up 72.5% year-on-year, while the cumulative imports were 1.31 billion US dollars, up 14.6% year-on-year. The export value exceeded the import value for the first time.

China is a big country in electronics manufacturing. The mobile phone and automobile industries are huge driving forces for LED development. China has a large population, lack of resources, energy shortage, and efforts to develop and use new energy and energy-saving technologies. This is a key issue for future economic development. First, LED longevity, energy saving and environmental protection, vigorously develop the semiconductor lighting industry at the right time; urban lighting, indoor and outdoor decoration demand will continue, will provide a broad market for the development of the LED industry in China, the chip packaging in the downstream of the industrial chain The lighting application industry is not only a technology-intensive industry, but also a labor-intensive industry. China has a comparative advantage in labor force, so it has the ability to undertake the transfer of the international semiconductor lighting industry. The Chinese LED industry is facing a rare development opportunity.
